Day 1

1st Jan: New Year's Day hangover cure - a berry burst smoothie!

1st Jan: after getting home at 5am, New Year’s Day started pretty late and didn’t involve a huge amount of activity except for desperately trying to recover from our NYE boat party on Sydney Harbour.

Day 2

2nd Jan: monster mayhem!

2nd Jan: my 50mm macro lens gets its first outing of the year.

2nd Jan: Claire the birthday girl

2nd Jan: the dramatic entrance to BLUE Sydney

2nd Jan: my spin partner in crime Claire had her birthday dinner at Velero on Finger Wharf, Wooloomooloo. We then tried to get into BLUE Sydney but the bar was closed. So we ditched the upmarket/sophisticated/civilised pretence and went to The Club in Kings Cross. Until 5am.

Day 3

3rd Jan: old boat

3rd Jan: my New Year's exercise resolution is underway!

3rd Jan: how does your garden grow?

3rd Jan: a walk to Bondi Junction and back reaped a few nice shots including the one above. This is a garden that is always immaculately maintained, but someone had decided it needed a VB bottle feature. I suppose if I was a model citizen then I would have moved it. But I’m not. And I loved the notion that the beer was the secret ingredient to the garden’s success so I took a photo instead!

Day 4

4th Jan: Bobby is back!

4th Jan: my good friend Jason Statham Rob (aka Bobby) had been in the UK for Christmas and NYE as well as his birthday on New Year’s Day. So Team Bondi decided to surprise him and at the airport on his return, complete with banner and Bobby masks!

Day 5

5th Jan: I usually meet up with Bobby after work at least once a week to walk home from the City to Bondi. It’s a great way to stretch the legs, especially when it’s in the early evening sunshine and via Centennial Park.

Day 6

6th Jan: brooding Bondi

6th Jan: I have the best bus journey to work in the world. It starts at Bondi Beach where every morning presents a stunning view no matter what the weather.

6th Jan: introducing Cass - the new face of BigPond TV!

Day 7

7th Jan: early morning line-up outside Bondi IGA

7th Jan: mmmm, chicken schnitzel sandwich!

7th Jan: the first of many chicken schnitzels likely to grace my palette this year. And it was SO good!
